Message to Summer 2013 Writers

Hi, Writers.  I hope you have a great time this summer.  I'm sure you will get a lot out of Danielle and Kathryn's leadership in Summer Institute.  You may know that they have both taken the summer program, helped with it, and then last summer led it entirely on their own.  This year you will be joined by Dr. Sarah Hobson, also a Summer Institute veteran, and a vigorous writer, teacher, and colleague. When you complete the program you will be considered a "Teacher Consultant," ready to share your expertise in writing classrooms K-12, and will join about 35 other teachers in the area who are using writing in their classroom (and personally) to be more effective teachers.  You will meet them at conferences, meetings, and PD events around CNY, and when you do, introduce yourself as a member of the class of 2013.  I look forward to stopping in, and know you are going to have a great summer.  Sincerely,  David Franke
