Situated Literacy Discussion

Bird- I love the different types of literacy.  It reminded me of Howard Gardner's Theory of Multiple Intelligences.  My burning question is what are we doing in our schools to address the different literacies, K-12 and on. How are we creating a learning environment that allows film, acting, computer, etc. types of literacy?  Also, how do we we foster the cultural aspects in such a large nation?
