Bird's Burning Question
What skills do I want my students (in each grade level) to have and how can I teach them effectively? How do I find out the big picture of a unit I am teaching and then help guide my students to that, especially when I have to do this for five major units every year along two different ELA classes? What practices can I implement in my classroom to become a better facilitator of learning?

Next week we'll do an Understanding By Design workshop. That might help you envision this.
ReplyDeleteI love the sound of your school. It reminds me of a one-room school house, where all the little ones are learning from the older students and the teacher is guiding everyone along.
