Short term solution- I know you are not a teacher, but you could write a curriculum that discusses your experiences that are based off of the literacies that we have discussed. I have been wondering how I can introduce all of these different cultures and social groups to my students to facilitate learning about the different groups of people in our country and have it be authentic. What the hell do I know about these experiences? I was thinking last night that we all have such diverse backgrounds (low income, lesbian, middle class, black, etc.) that we could write something to help teachers teach being sensitive about these literacies. You could write one and publish it on teachers pay teachers.
Marissa, My husband is the entrepreneur in residence at SU and other colleges. He is an excellent coach and would be happy to talk to you (and anyone else) who would like to brainstorm and ask questions about how to fund themselves and come up with ideas about becoming entrepreneurial. I know he would be happy to talk to anyone, either here, via email, or phone. I'm sure I could get him to talk to us.
I wish I even knew where to start on this question! Will you share your answers when you find some.
ReplyDeleteI guess the most important thing is to rely on a network to support you and cheer you on as you get started. 7vwp people are great cheerleaders!
